Services

Food photography is all about showing your clients what they can expect when they come to your restaurant, hire your catering service or bake a recipe from your cookbook. I provide stunning visuals that will allow your audience to connect with your food before the very first bite.

Types of Projects

Every project is different, which is why I tailor your experience to your unique business. Here are a few examples of projects I work on:

  • Small business branding. From showcasing your products to capturing the essence of your workspace, I create a narrative that speaks directly to your audience. I also incorporate creative headshots or candid images of you at work to add a personal touch to your brand identity.
  • Restaurant photography. From the ambiance of your dining area to the intricate details of your dishes, I create visuals that showcase the experience your restaurant offers. Whether it’s the cozy atmosphere or modern decor, I highlight what makes your restaurant a must-visit destination.
  • Menu photography. For restaurants just looking to give their menu a refresh, I’ll shoot a selection of dishes or your entire menu.
  • Cookbook photography. From food styling to lighting and photographing the dishes, I work with you to create a cohesive strategy and vision that brings your recipes to life.
  • Product photography. I work with food brands all across the US and occasionally internationally! Send your product and I’ll create eye-catching visuals that resonate with your target audience.
  • Event photography. With a blend of candid moments and curated shots, I love capturing events from farmers markets and food festivals to private dinners and product launches.
The Process

Step 1: Reach out

Get in touch with an overview of your project. If I need additional information to create a proposal, I’ll contact you via email or a quick phone call.

Step 2: Proposal

I’ll send you a proposal outlining the scope, timeline and cost of the project. If you decide to move forward, you’ll pay a deposit and we’ll schedule your photo session.

Step 3: Creative call

You’ll fill out a questionnaire that helps me understand your brand and story. Then we’ll have a creative call (or in-person chat if you prefer) to discuss your vision.

Step 4: Revise

I’ll send you the plan with a detailed shot list. You’ll have a chance to provide feedback and make any adjustments before the photo shoot.

Step 5: Photo session

The big day! I’ll arrive at your location with my camera and studio lighting and make sure we capture everything you need!

Step 6: Photo Delivery

Within 2 weeks, hi-res images will be delivered to you in an online gallery.

FAQ

From lighting and composition to styling and editing, the techniques used in food photography are very different than those used in wedding and portrait photography. Food photography is all about the little details that will make the dish pop!

I utilize thoughtful composition and studio lighting to tell the story of the food I photograph. I love to set an entire scene, but also incorporate macro photography to capture intricate details . From bright and airy to dark and moody, I enjoy experimenting with new techniques and styles and am committed to understanding each brand’s vision.

Because I take on so many different types of projects, I don’t have typical photography packages. Reach out with a brief description of your project and I’ll get back to you with a customized quote so you can see if we’re a good fit. Rates start at $250 for small projects.

It’s best to book at least 2-4 weeks in advance. This gives me time to go over your vision and create a plan for the photo shoot.

A typical photoshoot can take anywhere from 1 to 8 hours, depending on the number of dishes and the complexity of the shots. If you’re just looking to try this food photography thing out, I also offer quick 45 minute sessions for small projects.
